A Leaky Fork Seal Might Just Be Dirty
Notice a little fork oil around your seal? Don’t assume it’s blown. A tiny piece of dirt trapped under the seal lip can cause a leak.
Carefully slide a fork-seal cleaning tool or thin piece of flexible plastic under the seal lip and sweep around the fork tube to pull out trapped dirt. Wipe everything clean, compress the forks a few times, and check again.
Sometimes a 2-minute cleaning can save you from replacing a perfectly good fork seal.

We’ve all done dumb stuff. Here are the stories. Enjoy.
